Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Legal Compass Desk collects when you use the app, why it is collected, and what control you have over it. It applies to the desk itself and to this website.

Your account. Your name and email address, so you can sign in and so we can reach you about your desk or your subscription.

What you put on your desk. The matters, updates, dates, statuses, notes and people you enter while using Compass. This is your working information, and it belongs to you.

Basic usage information. Pages viewed and actions taken inside the app, in aggregate, so it is clear which parts of the desk are actually useful and which are not.

Your information is used to run the app: to sign you in, to build and sort your desk, to show you your own matters, and to keep your subscription in order. Aggregate usage information is used to improve the product. Nothing you enter is sold, rented or traded.

Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by Legal Compass Desk. We keep only the identifiers needed to know which plan is active and when it renews.

Only the service providers that make the app work — the hosting and database platform that stores your desk, and Stripe for payments. Each handles the data strictly for that purpose. Information is also disclosed if the law genuinely requires it.

You can edit or remove anything on your desk at any time from inside the app. If you want your account and everything on it deleted, email us and it will be removed.

Compass uses the storage a web app needs to keep you signed in and to remember your desk preferences. It does not use advertising cookies, and it does not track you across other sites.

If how the app handles your information changes in a meaningful way, this page will be updated and the date below changed. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
