Terms of Service

Legal Compass Desk is a workflow tool for paralegals and legal professionals. It takes what you tell it about your matters and sorts it into a picture of what needs your attention today, what is coming up, and what is stuck waiting on someone else.

Compass is not a law firm, it does not give legal advice, and nothing on it should be treated as legal advice. It is also not a substitute for your firm's case management system or its official file of record. Court deadlines, filing rules and firm policy always come first — verify anything important against your own system.

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Give accurate details when you sign up, and tell us if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Everything you enter stays yours. Only enter information you are allowed to hold — respect your firm's confidentiality rules and any professional obligations that apply to you. You are responsible for what you choose to type into the desk.

New desks start with a free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the plan you chose continues and the card on file is charged for the billing period you selected. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled.

Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Use Compass for your own legitimate work. Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer or resell the service, and do not use it to store or transmit anything unlawful.

The desk is offered as it stands, and features may be added, changed or retired as the product develops. Reasonable effort is made to keep it available, but uninterrupted service is not guaranteed.

You can cancel at any time from the billing area of your account. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

To the extent the law allows, Legal Compass Desk is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
